Many people share the same experience as I. Maintaining a good credit report was not a part of our family discussion at the dinner table, church or otherwise. I didn't know what a PG&E bill was until I was 18 years old.
It's nothing to be ashamed of, but it is a shame if I don't teach my own children about money and the importance of maintaining good credit. This is a conversation I wish I had many years ago. Some of my friends and associates did have those conversations with their parents and still screwed up their credit reports, so who can say. Thoughts?
